The Waikato Stadium in Hamilton is a multi-purpose stadium but its big moment in the sun will come at the 2011 Rugby World Cup when it plays host to three games, it is a popular sport city in Hamilton and they certainly are looking forward to welcoming the teams to the area in September. The Waikato Stadium has a capacity of 25,800 and will no doubt be packed full for each of the three pool games; it is used to hosting big events as it is the home of the Chiefs who play in the Super 14 Championship.
